 Changes were made to the science curriculum for exams starting in 2018.  The new GCSE's are designed to be more challenging and are assessed by exam only at the end of the course. There is also a new grading system of 9-1 replacing the old A* - G, grade 5 and above being considered as a good pass.

Course Options

The science GCSE is compulsory and provides two course options: combined science or triple science. Both options have end of course exams. The triple science option has greater more in depth content and the end of course exams are longer. There is also the option to choose higher or foundation level, higher offers grades 9-4 and foundation offers grades 5-1.
